Water-Swellable Polymers
Water-swellable polymers is a white odorless fine powder synthesized via cross-linking polymerization. When mixed into fresh cementitious systems, it rapidly absorbs free mixing water and swells into elastic hydrogel particles, acting as internal water reservoirs and rheology regulators throughout the curing period of mortar and concrete.
Water-swellable polymers works as thickener, dispersant and anti-segregation agent instead of superabsorbent, often compounded in mortar additives to adjust slurry viscosity and homogeneity
